In order to purchase inexpensive stock, The Hag's gang enters the stock exchange by staging a second market crash through a blackout. To deal with the Torch and a gas that extinguishes the flames of both the Torch and the Toro, they wear clothing that has been chemically treated. After Torch brings him to the hospital after Toro breaks his arm in a fall, the physician says Toro requires a "flame transfusion." The doctor informs Torch that Toro's flame will never be as strong as his after strengthening Toro's. The Hag is cornered by Torch and Toro, and when she tries to get away by setting off gas, the explosion kills her.
